Biographical Information

Drs. Miles have an extensive background in training in crisis intervention. Dr. Robert Miles worked as a Navy Psychiatrist during the Vietnam War and specialized in Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Dr. Linda Miles was director of crisis programs for a large mental health center. Together they have written a book about relationships that is quite successful entitled The New Marriage: Transcending the Happily-Ever-After-Myth (Cypress House).

Linda Miles, Ph.D.

Linda has worked in the field of mental health for over thirty years. She has specialized in marriage and family work. She is currently in private practice and provides consultation for professional therapy organizations in the area of relationship skills. The Tallahassee Association of Marriage and Family Therapists presented her with the Distinguished Contributions to Knowledge & Practice of Marriage and Family Therapy Award on December 4, 2000. She has published numerous articles, co-authored The New Marriage with husband, Robert, and appears frequently on media shows. She has been named as an outstanding graduate of Florida State University and appears in Whoâs Who Among Women in America.

Robert W. Miles, M.D.

Dr. Miles is a psychiatrist with over thirty years of experience in the field. He has worked in numerous areas of psychiatry including private practice, administrative psychiatry, with children and families, as well as adults. He was appointed as Senior Physician for the State of Florida and works in private practice. Robert has a special interest in couples work and has practiced psychotherapy as a team with his wife, Linda. He has been honored as ãDoctor of the Yearä by the State of Florida. He has been a college professor and Medical Director for a Community Mental Health Center. He co-authored The New Marriage with wife, Linda.
